We don't want to be a one-person distro. Errors, ideas, audits and testing all live at the Github Project (posted here manually)

[BUG] Change Wallpaper & sddm should obtain the default wallpaper of the user

Bug Description

Currently the wallpaper is set to not be able to be changed. That cannot be, it must be able to be changed. In addition, we must add custom wallpapers to part of the current one.

SDDM should get the user’s wallpaper as well as the lockscreen.

Ideas

The roadmap is shaped by the community. Proposals are reviewed openly.

A distro focused on TV and NAS. Save your videos or movies and enjoy them on your television, everything that Android TV or Apple doesn’t do.

It would include CasaOS and PLasma Bigscreen

Wintux — Windows-inspired edition

A Windows-inspired edition of Pulsar OS for people coming from Windows.

What we are thinking about:

  • Centered taskbar, start menu and snap layouts.

Open decision — we need your input: should Wintux be built on KDE Plasma or GNOME? We are leaning towards KDE Plasma for a closer Windows feel, but we want the community to weigh in on Discord and Matrix.

Help wanted

Concrete tasks where the community can help — audits, testing, translations and documentation. Everything is credited.

Nothing open right now — check back soon.

Get your name on the wall

Pulsar OS grows because people recommend it and help it. We want to thank the people who make that happen — publicly.

01

Your name gets etched into theHall of Fame, on a dedicated page that stays forever.

How contributing works

Pulsar OS is open source, built by and for the community. Whether you're a developer, designer, translator, documentation writer or simply want to help out, there is a place for you.

GitHub Organization

All of Pulsar OS source code is available on GitHub. Explore the repositories, open issues, send pull requests and follow development in real time. The project board shows which tasks are pending, in progress or completed.

AI-assisted development policy

We welcome pull requests developed with the help of AI assistants, as long as they meet the following requirements:

  1. Testing: Every AI-generated PR must pass the appropriate testing before being submitted. We don't accept untested code.
  2. Bilingual comments: All comments in the code must be written in both English and Spanish so the codebase remains accessible to our community. AI tools handle this effortlessly.

AI is a powerful productivity tool, not a replacement for responsibility. If your PR is well tested and properly documented, it will be reviewed like any other.

Other ways to contribute

You don't need to be a programmer to help. You can contribute with documentation, translations, graphic design, bug reports, or simply by sharing Pulsar OS with others. Every bit helps.

Whether you audit, test, translate, code or simply spread the word — your name belongs on the wall.
